Here are some excellent chocolate muffin with dates and I have taken at Sakya.

¾ cup boiling water 1 tablespoon
tsp baking soda 1 ¾ cup
2 tablespoons flour teaspoon baking powder ½ tsp
teaspoon salt 1 egg ¼ cup
melted butter 1 cup chocolate chips
½ cup brown sugar 1 tsp
tea extract vanilla
-Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
-In a bowl, place the chopped dates and baking soda, pour over boiling water and let stand until the mixture has cooled.
-In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt.
-In microwave, melt butter and chocolate chips.
-Add the date mixture, cooled. Add-
Then, egg and brown sugar. Mix well. Stir in vanilla.
-Make a well in center of dry ingredients and pour in liquid ingredients. Mix-up
homogeneity. Pour three-quarters pans and bake until a brooch in the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes
